Hello, today was the first day of our trip to Alaska. We were on the road about 8:30 am and headed North on I-15 out of Salt Lake City. The Kawasaki KLR-650 ran like a watch for the next 3.5 hrs until we stopped for lunch in Pocatello Idaho. I can usually go about 230 miles before I have to go turn on the reserve fuel valve but today the Killer decided to run dry at 197 miles while traveling down the highway at 70 mph. (whew)
The motorhome had a small hiccup while climbing a steep hill and had to pull over but finally decided to come out of it. We are now parked for the night near Butte Montana. Tomorrow we should cross the border to Canada.

Despite the hiccups you’re having too much fun. Stay safe.
Absolutely !
What was the days highlight? 446 miles (approx) is a pretty solid day on a KLR. Whats the saddle like? More details are going to be needed. Looks like it rained from the photo. ~ did it? Are you leading the train or trailing? Can you post multiple photos on this site? What was for dinner?
More to come, limited on what I can post from here as we are broke down with the motorhome 😦
Oh no! Sounds like a bad case of hiccups. Huh so you’re saying you ran out of gas first big ride on a new bike, funny how that can happen……;-)
I hope that you dont have more issues w/ the motorhome Big Ches. 3 people on the KLR could be a little too crowded.
Boy you got that right Foxy!
Lol….I love this idea of blogging…and taking us all along…very kewl!
